Remarks: Known as Don Marquis. He first gained recognition in NY as a newspaper columnist writing for the "Sun" and the "Tribune" in which he expressed his satrical commentary. In 1912, he started his own column "The Sun Dial" he was also the author of plays and short stories. Such as "Archy and Mehitabel" and a neighbor of the sculptor, Adolf Alexander Weinman
