James Harvey Lyon

Remarks: James Harvey Lyon was a prominent farmer, teacher, and merchant of Westchester County, New York. He was born in North Castle, New York, the son of "Squire" Peter Lyon (1743-1824), a member of the Committee of Safety and the city magistrate before whom Major John Andre, the Revolutionary spy, was arraigned. James Lyon was married first to Annie Bowne in 1799. She died in 1802. In 1808 he married Elizabeth Meade. They had twelve children.
