Clarence Lexow

Remarks: Clarence Lexow was elected to the NewYork State Senate in 1893. He headed up a special senate committe in 1894 which investigated the police and other departments of New York city. Lexow was also the chairman of the joint legislative committee which in 1898 worked out the consolidation of Manhattan and the four other boroughs into greater New York.
