Stonewall Jackson
Date: 1824 - 1863
Remarks: A graduate of West Point, Jackson taught at the Virginia Military Institute and fought in the Mexican War before making a name for himself during the Civil War. One of Robert E. Lee's most trusted men, his skill helped bring about victories in the Shenandoah Valley Campaign. Jackson died in 1863, after being wounded by his own men at the battle of Chancellorsville. Source:
