Remarks: graduated Swarthmore College and Harvard Law School; Began his political career as an elected Town Meeting Member of Brookline; served two years in the military during the Korean , most of that time he was with the Support Group to the United Nations Delegation to the Military Armistice Commission in Korea. Member of the state legislature 1963-1970; lieutenant governor; governor of Massachusetts 1975-1979, 1983-1991; presidential candidate in 1988; now a professor of Political Science at Northeastern University and vice chairman of the Board of Directors of AMTRAK.
