Remarks: Beatrice Cameron was born Susan Hegeman in Troy, New York. In 1884 she was married to George R. P. Phoebus, a New York newspaperman. She began her theatrical career as an amateur, but in 1886 she joined Richard Mansfield's company and took the stage name Beatrice Cameron. She made her debut with Mansfield at the Madison Square Garden Theater that year. Her first marriage ended in divorce in 1891 and in 1892 she was married to Mansfield. After his death in 1907, Cameron became active in charitable organizations and also occasionally directed modest productions of plays. She died at her home, the Grange, in New London, Connecticut.
