Grover Cleveland
Date: 1837 - 1908
Remarks: Grover Cleveland, although born in New Jersey, was raised in New York, where he served as mayor of Buffalo as well as governor of the state. Cleveland, the first Democratic President after the Civil War, was also the first president to serve two non-consecutive terms and the first president to be married in the White House, choosing Frances Folsom as his bride. In office, Cleveland put a stop to the policy of granting special favors to certain groups and worked to strengthen "the sturdiness of our national character". After leaving office in 1897, he spent his days in retirement in Princeton, New Jersey. -Source: http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/gc2224.html
