John Bryan

Remarks: John Bryan was a prominent merchant and furrier in Albany, who traded extensively with John Jacob Astor between 1813 and 1815. By 1833 his son, Francis, who later became an alderman, had joined his firm. John Bryan served as one of the original directors of the Mechanics' and Farmers' Bank in Albany from March 1811 to June 1812. He married three times and had a daughter, Catherine, by his first wife.
