John Wilkes Booth
Date: American, 1838 - 1865
Remarks: A prominent actor who identified with the Confederate cause, Booth plotted to kidnap members of the American government. After those plans failed, Booth assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theater. It was five days after General Lee surrendered.. Booth was shot through the neck less than two weeks after he killed President Lincoln. He died from the wounds and many of his co-conspirators were executed as well.
