Nathaniel Bailey

Remarks: He was the son of Judge William Bailey and his wife Phoebe (Platt) Bailey. His life as a businessman in New York was accurately summarized in his obituary. "He came to New York in 1824 and entered business, from which he retired when he was thirty-five years old. He was a Vestryman of Trinity Church....and was senior Governor of New-York Hospital...He had a wide acquaintance in society and was a member of the Union League Club, the Union Club, and the Century Club and the Saint Nicholas Society" (NYTimes 10/13/1891)
