Artur Bodanzky
Date: 1877 - 1939
Remarks: Began his career as a conductor in Budweis, then Bohemia in 1900 and in 1902 he became Gustav Mahler's assistant and protege at the Imperial Opera House in Vienna. He came to the U.S. in 1915 to conduct the German repertoire at the Metropolitan Opera Company. Bodansky was well known for his revisions of operatic scores and he gained special distinction for his interpretation of Wagnerian music
