James Lenox Banks

Remarks: Banks was a shipping and commission merchant and Isabella Henderson (Lenox) Banks. He was graduated in 1857 from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York; he later became a trustee of that institution as well as a consulting physician of Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Banks was also a trustee of Lenox Library, a member of the board of managers of the American Bible Society, and a member of The New-York Historical Society. In 1855 he married Isabella Mozier of Rome, Italy, where the first two of their thirteen children were born.
