Description: Bronze struck plaquette with obverse showing figure of mortally wounded French Red Cross nurse lying on the ground covered with roses and palm leaves entwined with laurel wreath; above is allegorical figure of Fame, holding palm and laurel branches, flanked by burning cityscapes in background; at corners above are two suspended shields bearing crosses. Reverse depicts wounded soldier being supported by nurse; legend above, with cross-bearing shield at center: "AUX DAMES DE LA CROIX ROUGE"; vertical inscriptions flanking central image: "VIRTVS/CARITAS"; blank rectangular tablet superimposed upon wreath of oak and laurel below.
