Description: Copper obverse electrotype shell showing the uniformed bust of Oliver H. Perry facing right with legend: "OLIVERUS H. PERRY. PRINCEPS STAGNO ERIENSE. CLASSIM TOTAM CONTUDIT." The reverse side of the shell bears a pin soldered at center.

This object appears to be a copper electrotype shell of the obverse die of the medal struck in 1818 commemorating Oliver H. Perry's victory in battle and destruction of the British fleet on Lake Erie.
