This clock was purchased as a souvenir at the 1939 New York World's Fair. The General Electric Company had an exhibit hall sporting a stainless-steel spire symbolizing the harnessing of electrical power. Exhibits inside included an early television and a spectacular ten-million-volt lightning flash.
