MARSCHING" then "TOULON-TROYON, CHATEAU-THIERRY, SOISSONS, MARBACHE, ST. MIHIEL, BLANC-MONT, MEUSE-ARGONNE"; along border "FOR HONORABLE SERVICE IN THE SECOND DIVISION OF REGULAR A.E.F".

This bar of miniature medals awarded to J.H. Marsching includes the Purple Heart, the World War I Victory Medal and two New York State medals. The last medal is inscribed on the front "Chateau-Thierry Coste 204, Washington, Lafayette." The obverse reads: "La Victoire Apparat Chateau-Thierry, 18 Juliet 1918."
