Description: Pair of captain's epaulets; rigid, gold lace-covered strap with two silver embroidered bars, gilded metal button embossed with shield-breasted eagle inside a border of stars, and gilded brass crescent; gold bullion fringe measuring 2 3/4 inches in length and 1/4 inch in diameter attached to rigid cuff; padded rose silk lining and brass strap fastener; in black painted metal storage box with rounded ends, a half-cylindrical indentation at center front and back, and a hinged lid with flat top and wire handle; oval interior compartment, also with hinged lid, contains two shoulder straps and three pieces of brass hardware (2432j-n).
