A view of the drying shed of the powder plant erected on the brandywine River in 1802 by the de Neuvilles' friend Eleuthere Irenee du Pont de Nemours (1771-1834). Irenee's elder brother, Victor du Pont de Nemours (1767-1827), lived at Angelica, New York, from 1806 to 1809, where the de Neuvilles visited with him in 1807 and purchased a farm.
