The subject was the son of Anthony Quiryn Lincklaen and the brother of Mrs. Gerrit Wolters. He came to the United States in 1790 and became an agent for the Holland Land Company in association with William Bayard, Herman Le Roy, and Robert Morris. He settled in Cazenovia, New York.
