"Little Red" is the emblem for Chances for Children, a charity founded in 1994 by Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, to assist American children with catastrophic medical needs, education, AIDS awareness, and other matters. The charity was quartered in Cantor Fitzgerald's offices on the 101st floor of the World Trade Center's North Tower. This is one of a number of the dolls pulled from the rubble at Ground Zero in the days following the attacks of 9/11/01. Another example is at the 9/11 Memorial Museum.

The dolls were initially created to raise money for the charity, but after several were found in the wreckage they became symbols of hope.
