Description: Wrought and cast silver tray; flat, rectangular dish with stepped sides and an applied, cast grapevine band around the rim; four cast shell and foliate scroll feet applied to the base; flowers and ferns engraved all over the dish; bright-cut "G" engraved in a scrolled cartouche the center of the dish; makers' marks on the base.

Marks: Inscription: engraved and chased at obverse with centered script: "G" surrounded by cartouche of c-scrolls, foliage, and shells, framed with flower tendrils, strawberry tendrils, leaves, and strap work. Entire engraved surface is outlined with chased engrailed border. Maker's marks: stamped on base: "GALE, WOOD & HUGHES" in roman letters in a rectangle, twice in relief on reverse along center-right and center-left sides.
