Description: Bronze struck medal with obverse showing pedestal with Washington's bust atop flanked by two military officers, one on guard, the other saluting; inscription: "1776/1876/JULY 4TH/PHILADELPHIA"; surrounding legend: "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE VISIT OF THE SEVENTH REGIMENT AND THE VETERAN CORPS N.G.S.N.Y./TO THE CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION OF 1876." Reverse depicts central shield within oak wreath with the seal of New York and American flag flanked by U.S. standards and surmounted by eagle; legend around border: "ACTIVE MEMBERS, 1001. COL.E.CLARK/VETERANS, 1060.COL.M.LEFFERTS."
