Description: Bronze struck medal with obverse showing clothed male bust facing right with inscription at lower right of field: "J./SANFORD/SALTUS/." Reverse depicts shoulder-length portrait of youth, holding burning torch in right hand and scrutinizing medal in left hand; landscape with rising sun, at right, in background; legend around border: ". NEW YORK NUMISMATIC CLUB . /ORGANIZED 1908." Medal is inset into square cream-colored cardboard box.
