Edith Knowlton RobbinsAmerican, 1874 – 1931

Edith was the daughter of Danford Henry Knowlton, New York businessman and stockbroker and Mary B. (Johnes) Knowlton. Her grandfather, Danford Knowlton was a sugar refiner in New York. Edith was the sister of Madeline Knowlton (b. 1876), Natalie B. Knowlton (b. 1883), and Louse R. Knowlton (b. 1886). She married Allan Apelton Robbins in 1901. Mr. Robbins was a prominient engineer and contractor who participated in the construction of the New York Subway system.
