Grace was originally from Louisville, KY. She married Oliver Harriman in 1891. Mr. Harriman ran a successful stock brokering business. Mrs. Harriman was involved with several charity lotteries and served as President of the National Conference on Legalizing Lotteries. She was also President of the Camp Fire Girls at one point and was a member of the Southern Women's Democratic Club. The couple had 3 sons: Oliver Carley, John & Borden. Her husband died in 1940 and Mrs. Harriman died 10 years later in New York.
