Virginia PotterAmerican, 1857 – 1937

Virginia was the daughter of Congressman Clarkson Potter of New York. Miss Potter devoted her life to improving the conditions of working women. She was associated with the NY League of Girl's Clubs. She established the first New York Hotel exclusively for girls and organized the Manhattan Trade School for Girls. She was the neice of the Right Reverend Henry Codman Potter.
