Edith Hope Goddard Iselin1868 - 1970

Edith Hope Goddard was the daughter of Colonel William W. Goddard and Mary Edith (Jenks) Goddard. In 1894, she married Charles Oliver Iselin, a banker with the firm of Adrian Iselin and Company, whose first wife, Frances (Garner) Iselin had died in 1890. Edith was the only woman ever (at the time) to sail as a member of a crew defending the America's Cup. She was a well-known beauty and an expert golfer.
