Anna Van Nest Gambrill

Anna Van Nest was the wife of Richard A. Gambrill, a leading New York merchant and was prominent in New York and Newport society. She was the mother of Richard Van Nest Gambrill (1890-1952), a noted New York sportsman. She maintained homes in Newport, New York, and South Carolina. At the time of her death, she left a large fortune that included bequests to several New York and Newport hospitals.
