Mary Field Payne

Mary was the daughter of Moses Augustus Field and Frances Field and grandduaghter of Moses and Mary Pearsall (Bradhurst) Field. Her father, a prominent New York businessman, was a wholesale druggist. She was born in New York and was the great-grandaughter of Samuel Osgood, first postmaster general of the United States. Mary was the sister of Maunsell Bradhurst, Augustus Bradhurst, and Thomas Pearsall Field. She married Henry Wilmerding Payne, the son of Rev. John William Payne and Elizabeth (Wilmerding) Payne and nephew of Lucius K. Wilmerding. Mr. Payne died in 1926.
