Bessie Montague Brown (1859 – 1930) was the daughter of Col. Charles Price Montague and Eliza (Denison) Montague. In 1887, she married Alexander Brown (1858-1949), of the prominent banking and investment firm of Alexander Brown and Sons of Baltimore and NY. Mrs. Brown was active socially in Baltimore and was the mother of Mrs. T. Suffern Tailor of NY and Newport, Mrs. Benjamin Howell Griswold, Jr. and Mrs. Harriet B. Blair of Baltimore
