Medorah von Hoffman de Vallombrosa

Medorah Marie von Hoffman was the daughter of Louis A. von Hoffman, a banker and founder of the Knickerbocker Club. She married Antoine Amedee Marie Vincent Manca Amrat de Vallombrosa, Marquis de Mores et de Monte-Maggoire (1858-1896), eldest son of the Duke of Vallombrosa in 1882. The couple lived on a ranch in the Dakota Badlands before moving to France. The Marquise was a notable sportswoman and mark woman. The couple had three chilren: Atenaide Genoveffa (b. 1884), Luigi Rccardo (b.1885), and Amedeo Paolo (b. 1890). Her husband, the Marquis was murdered while travelling in Africa.
