John Ramage

John RamageIrish, ca. 1748 – 1802

Miniaturist John Ramage arrived in British-occupied New York in 1777 and was active in the city until 1794. Trained as an artist in his native Ireland, he was also an accomplished goldsmith who made distinctive cases accented with gold beading and lively scalloped borders.
