Welcome to the New-York Historical Society's online museum catalog, featuring images and information about our collection of more than 60,000 artifacts and works of art. Many of these objects are on display in our Henry Luce III center for the Study of American Culture, located on the fourth floor of the museum.

To Begin exploring our collections, type a word or phrase (such as maker, title, or material) in the Quick Search box. Click ► and we will run a general search for all instances of your search word(s) in the title, object name, classification, description, name, people, nationality, number, credit line, curatorial remarks, and country fields in our database.

Click the Collections button to browse selected groups of objects that highlight aspects of our collection.

Click the Search button to search for specific people and objects, and to conduct an advanced search.

Sign On to create your own collections, and to view special collections created by other users. Save your own personalized collections of objects and images on the topic of your choice - come back to it next time you sign on and give other users the option of viewing your special collection.
