Elizur G. Webster (Dec. 20, 1828 - Oct. 9, 1900) founded a silver plating manufactory in Brooklyn, NY, in 1859 and established branches in Manhattan, Chicago, and San Francisco. The firm became "E. G. Webster & Bro," before becoming "E. G. Webster & Son" in 1886. In the late 1890s the firm had over 200 employees. The Interantional Silver Company of Meridan, CT, acquired the firm in 1928.

During the firm's existence, Brooklyn locations included 97 Front Street, 241 and 243 Fulton Street, and the corner of Atlantic and Fifth Avenues. Manhattan locations included 175 Broadway, 447 Broome Street, and 14 Maiden Lane.

Elizur G. Webster lived at No. 394 Clinton avenue for more than 35 years and served as a trustee of the Long Island Savings Bank of Brooklyn.
