DescriptionPair of cavalry officer's shoulder knots; pad with embroidered "A" framed by two embroidered bars on yellow wool ground, with three rows of gold braid surrounding; strap with interlaced gold braid and gilded metal button embossed with New York state shield; steel strap fastener.
Markingsembroidered: on pad: "A" maker's label: stitched to reverse: "ESTABLISHED 1838 / THE WAR[raised arm with mace]NOCK CO. / TRADE MARK / NEW YORK."
