In February of 1934, the Union Pacific Railroad unveiled America's first Streamline Design train. The first train to be made of aluminum alloy, it was designed to be fast, light, and unusual in appearance. This souvenir coin, made of the same aluminum used on the train's exterior, was issued at the time of the train's debut.
