DescriptionSilver struck medal with obverse depicting seal of New York surmounted by eagle; with branches of oak and laurel beneath; legend: "NATIONAL GUARDS NEW-YORK/PRO PATRIA, ET GLORIA." Reverse bears engraved inscription: "To His Excy./Dewitt Clinton/Gov. of New York./FROM THE/National Guards,/Prosper M. Wetmore/Colonel,/4 July 1826." Medal is set into ornate gilded frame with round loop attached at center top; rectangular cardboard fitted case bottom with purple silk velvet interior and gold embossed edges.
