These teaspoons, along with a mug, beaker and a set of tablespoons, were purchase from John Vernon by Benjamin White in 1794. The bill of sale for these objects is also in the collection of the New-York Historical Society.
DescriptionFive silver teaspoons with downturned pointed-end midrib handles, midrib on the underside of the handle, and pointed oval bowls with tapered drops; handles engraved, "BMW" in bright-cut script; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
