These trousers were worn by Charles C. Warren when he served as 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Field Artillery, New York National Guard.
DescriptionDeep blue wool Artillery officer's trousers with 1 3/4" red stripe down the side of each leg; 5 button fly with a tab to the left at the top which fastens to a button inside the waistband; 6 belt loops around the waistband; vertical slit pockets behind each stripe at the hip (no rear pockets); waist and pockets lined with white twill-weave cotton; leather stirrup straps at the bottom hems which fasten to 2 buttons inside the hem.Markingscast: on face of each button: "BROOKS BROTHERS"
