DescriptionWhite metal struck replica of award medal presented to the captors of Major John Andre: Van Wert, Paulding and Williams; obverse of oval medal bears a rococo shield at center, flanked by laurel and floral branches with scroll above inscribed: "FIDELITY"; reverse contains space at center with inscription: "FACSIMILE/MEDAL/GIVEN/PATRIOTS/VAN WERT,/PAULDING/&/WILLIAMS," surrounded by floral branches; legend: "AMOR/PATRIAE VINCIT."
