In 1791, Vermont joined the Union, followed by Kentucky in 1792. In consequence, two additional stars and stripes were added to the flag. It is the only flag style with more than thirteen stripes.
DescriptionMiniature silk printed fifteen-star and -stripe U.S. flag with a star-wreath in the canton; nailed to a black flagstaff with a gold painted finial.
