This waistcoat was worn by Cornelius Rea Agnew, M. D., at his wedding to Mary Nash, May 15, 1856. Cornelius Rea Agnew founded the Eye, Ear & Nose hospital of New York.
DescriptionWaistcoat with cream silk twill front panels; small rolled collar dropped into ovoid lapels over seven silk cover buttons; three pockets, two at the waist line and one at the breast; cream satin back panel with satin belt and two pronged metal buckle to cinch garment at lower back; natural linen lining.
