The International Silver Co. was incorporated by a number of independent New England silversmiths in 1898, after which date the company continued to use the marks of its predecessors. The International Silver Co. mark itself was not used on flatware until after 1928 (see Dorothy T. Rainwater, "Enyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers," p. 77).
DescriptionSilver souvenir spoon with engraved inscription, "Meet me at the fountain," on inside of pointed oval bowl; spatulate handle with diagonal ribbing and flower and scroll motif on obverse.
Markingsengraved: on inside of bowl: "Meet me / at the / Fountain" stamped: on reverse: "1847 ROGERS BROS A1" followed by circular impression with illegible inscription
