Julia Jarvis Marvin was the younger daughter of Walter Taylor Marvin and Eliza Rowland (Jarvis) Marvin of New York. She married Edward Jenner Swords on September 11, 1872. Her portrait was a gift to the Society from her daughter-in-law.
