Mary Ann Shuart was the eldest daughter of Christian Shuart and his second wife, Leah (Kipp) Shuart, who lived near Princeton, N.J. She married Edward C. Corwin on June 16, 1829. Her portrait was a gift to the New-York Historical Society from her granddaughter.
