According to the donor, this suite of furniture was made for his grandfather John Howard Abeel, who lived on the corner of 8th Street and 2nd Avenue.
DescriptionRococo revial side chair with scroll-carved scrolled crest and oval piercing below crest; front seat rail and knees carved with reversing C-scroll, foliage, and shell motifs; short cabriole legs with scroll feet; rectangular rear legs. Upholstered with modern gray fabric with black stripes.
