This spoon was used on the Hudson River steamboat "Benjamin B. Odell," launched in 1911. The initials stamped on the handle of this spoon are those of the Central Hudson Steamboat Company.
DescriptionSpoon used on the steamer "B. B. Odell"; oval bowl with inscription engraved on interior; handle pierced at center, with roses in relief on either side and stamped inscription at end of obverse.
Markingsengraved: on inside of bowl: ""B. B. ODELL," / 1911" stamped: on end of handle, obverse side: "C. H. S. B. Co." stamped: on reverse: "HOLMES & EDWARDS [in rectangle] XIV [in rectangle]"
